Finale
My acting days came to an end after I started working at Purdue, and got married and serious about a career in computer programming. But some of my most gratifying rewards from my early degree work in speech and drama have come to me during these years. I have managed to keep one finger in the pot by participating in choir, Christmas and Easter Cantatas, Camp skits, Bible School, and working with the Youth Group. In fact I did a stint as co-drama director for our church's 50 day spiritual adventure during Lent a few years ago. Mary Lou Warden and I co-directed 9 short skits for church services. Easter Sunday I played Lucy, the mother of an eleven year old boy who had disappeared. Afterwards, Esther Smith, an unassuming older lady in the congregation who had always quietly smiled at me and gone on, came up to me and said emphatically 'You are an actress!' It was such an affirmation and I'll always love her for saying it. Another young man, who had just started coming when I played the role of Mary in a Readers Theater piece for the church Christmas program told me some months later that he always thought of me as 'Mary.' In fact before he learned my name, he just referred to me as - y'know - Mary. :)
Heads up, this window sounds best with the volume turned down W-A-Y D-O-W-N L-O-W... ;D
I've never made a fortune,
and it's probably too late now.
But I don't worry about that much,
I'm happy anyhow.And as I go along life's way,
I'm reaping better than I sowed.
I'm drinking from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed.Haven't got a lot of riches,
and sometimes the going's tough.
But I've got loving ones all around me,
and that makes me rich enough.I thank God for his blessings,
and the mercies He's bestowed.
I'm drinking from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed.I remember times when things went wrong,
My faith wore somewhat thin.
But all at once the dark clouds broke,
and the sun peeped through again. So Lord, help me not to gripe,
about the tough rows I have hoed.
I'm drinking from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed. If God gives me strength and courage,
When the way grows steep and rough.
I'll not ask for other blessings,
I'm already blessed enough. And may I never be too busy,
to help others bear their loads.
Then I'll keep drinking from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed. When I think of how many people
in this world have it worse than I do.
I realize just how lucky most of us really are.Don't be too busy today...Share this inspiring message with friends and family.

Apologies in advance for being politically incorrect! This cute little poem entitled "Kentucky Love" by Max came from the Internet. I ran it past my husband who hails from Kentucky and he thought it was funny, so I decided to include it. :)
Kentucky Love
Susie Lee done fell in love;
She planned to marry Joe.
She was so happy 'bout it all
She told her Pappy so.
Pappy told her, "Susie gal,
You'll have to find another.
I'd just as soon yo' Ma don't know,
But Joe is yo' half brother"
Susie put aside her Joe
And planned to marry Will.
But after telling Pappy this,
He said, "There's trouble still...
You cain't marry Will, my gal.,
And please don't tell your Mother,
But Will and Joe and several mo'
I know is yo' half brother"
But Mama knew and said, "My child,
Just do what makes you happy.
Marry Will or marry Joe
You ain't no kin to PappyMAX
