How to obtain veterinary care for animals in your care

  • When you believe an animal is abnormal, sick, in discomfort, or otherwise requires aid, first report this to your supervisor or animal caretaker. If no one is available for consultation, you should request veterinary care from LAP by calling 765-494-9163.
  • This holds true even if the Protocol investigator / instructor is a veterinarian.
  • Specific instructions are available on our website for:
    • contacting LAP during normal business hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays
    • what information you will need to provide LAP before the veterinarian's visit
    • what steps you will need to take at the lab to prepare for the veterinarian's visit
